Well anyway since they're your all time favorite band and Seth Putnam is your idol I'll post some anal cunt lyrics for you. Well anyway the song you reminded me of was "I Noticed You Were Gay"
i saw you buying a pearl jam record, and i noticed that you're gay
i saw you hanging around in allston, and i noticed that you're gay
i saw you riding around on your rollerblades, and i noticed that you're gay
i saw you getting your tongue pierced, and i noticed that you're gay
i heard you spend all day on the internet, and i noticed that you're gay
i saw you drinking a frappucino,and i noticed that you're gay
i saw you wearing a fucking tree shirt, and i noticed that you're gay

Conducted by Andy Gourski

GCDC: I think 'Human 2.0' is rather a successful release and Relapse has done everything to let people hear it. What can you say about the reaction of people cause many had the opportunity to contact you via e-mail and during your gigs?

ANDERS: The reaction has been very good, (laughs) extremely good I would say, both from ordinary people and magazines, from everyone actually. It?s very flattering to hear so much pleasant words about your recording. We?re very pleased with the reaction so far. We get lots of e-mails with people saying good stuff and give lots of interviews. It?s really great!

GCDC: I haven't found the explanation of the album name Human 2.0 in your lyrics. Maybe you have something to say on this spot just to make things more clear?

ANDERS: The title has multiple meaning and our idea is that everyone should have their own interpretation of what the title means. There isn?t really an explanation for the title but some of the ideas that we have is that in the future humanbeings might not be what humanbeings are today controlled by machines, living a totally different kind of life where you have to rely on machines and computers.

GCDC: Then the artwork on your album really makes sense, cause progress is already deep under our skin like those wires on the cover and we can?t live without all those gadgets round us. Is that what you wanted to show?

ANDERS: Yea, in some way. I mean, we in the band can't live without our computers and other electronic stuff, but you have to be careful not to become a part of the machine.

GCDC: What's your attitude to progress?

ANDERS: There are many things to improve. For example people use only 30 percents of their brains? abilities. Like they don?t use the biggest part of the brains. I'd like human beings to progress in that way, try to use brains more not machines.

GCDC: You know, progress also brings destruction, for example the invention of the nuclear bomb and stuff like that?

ANDERS: There are always bad and good sides.

GCDC: Your bio say that you didn't want to be some sort of porno/gore band, but wanted to play straight political grindcore. What are your political views?

ANDERS: Well, I wouldn't say that we are anarchists.

GCDC: So you're interested in politics?

ANDERS: To a certain point, I think. We try to make clear what our views and opinions are in our lyrics, but on the other hand the lyrics exist only for those people who are really interested in them. It's not necessary to read and understand our lyrics.

GCDC: Can you say some words about Miezko Talarchyk? You know, his last name sound Slavic to me. He's not a native Swedish guy, is he?

ANDERS: No, he's originally from Poland. His parents fled from Poland due to some political differences, I think, when he was like seven years old.

GCDC: You worked with Dan Swano. How did you like working with the underground legend?

ANDERS: When we started a band in '92 we did our first recording with Dan Swano. We have worked with him for ten years or so. But when it comes to his work on Human 2.0 the only thing he did was letting us use his equipment and he wasn?t a part of the production for the sound in any way. He just finished editing and put the songs in the right order. Dan Swano is a great guy, ha-ha!

GCDC: Grindcore isn't very popular in Sweden is it?

ANDERS: On the other hand, there are many bands playing other kinds of music to take influences from - like death metal has some grindcore elements and hardcore has some grindcore elements too.

GCDC: And what made you form a grindcore band in such a non-grindcore influenced country?

ANDERS: When we formed a band we listened to grindcore for quite a while, we really liked the sound and we wanted to play that kind of stuff, so we did. Our main influences came from NAPALM DEATH, TERRORIZER, REPULSION and so on.

GCDC: And what about CARCASS?

ANDERS: Yes, CARCASS is also a great band and it was a great influence. But we actually listen to all kinds of music and take influences from all kinds of music too. Because if you listen to a certain style all the time you'll repeat yourself or somebody else.

GCDC: Do you think that concept is really important in music? So, compare your band and those porno/gore grind bands.

ANDERS: Those kind of bands can be fun as well to listen to in spite of their lyrics as well as satanic don't make any cense to me. But that doesn't keep me from listening to those bands because music is always number one I think. And when you listen to a band you don't really get the lyrics most of the time. The only thing I don't listen to is bands that have racial or nazi lyrics.

GCDC: What do you do besides music?

ANDERS: I'm a web-designer?

GCDC: And you've designed NASUM's page?

ANDERS: Yea.

GCDC: Looks great, I like it!

ANDERS: Thanks. I work at a local newspaper designing its page and on a regular basis I also write for the newspaper, some reviews, interviews and other stuff like that. Miezko has his own recording studio.

GCDC: Sound Lab?

ANDERS: Yea. He's like 100 percent in music all the time. And our bass player works with old people at the moment. I don't really know what he's doing, ha-ha.

GCDC: Can you say some words about Swedish life and mentality?

ANDERS: I think Swedish are always complaining about everything. Like everything is expensive, it's a shitty live out here? that kind of stuff, but I do think that it's much-much better to live in Sweden then in some other country. We have social security that really works. Living in Sweden is actually pretty good. Some things are expensive, but I like Sweden.

GCDC: Do you have any dreams or goals?

ANDERS: A dream or goal? For the band or for myself?

GCDC: For the band and for yourself, if you don't mind.

ANDERS: For myself, it's to be happy in some way. I want to live my own life based on the money that I've earned myself. I'd like to live an ordinary life with someone I love and not ot depend on the social security? For the band, it's just to keep on playing as long as it's possible.

GCDC: What are you going to do after playing in the band?

ANDERS: Oh, I don't think about that right now.

GCDC: You know, some people think that real grindcore should be played in garage without any mastering, the sound must be raw and you do just the opposite using high technology?

ANDERS: Exactly. I can enjoy the music recorded that way (I mean garage grind). Sometimes that shows some kind of energy, I don't know how to put it? I like it! But for our band we want to have the best sound and we try very hard to make everything sound as good as possible.

GCDC: And you succeeded in that.

ANDERS: (laughs) Ok!

GCDC: What are your plans for future?

ANDERS: We are going to play some gigs here in local clubs but in October there are plans for a real tour and I hope it's going to happen because we want to play for people.

GCDC: And what's about a new album?

ANDERS: Well, we'll certainly record a new album during the next year. Actually, we are looking forward to another album because it?s a great fun to write lyrics and compose riffs, then listen to the final sound, rehearse and record songs. I like this crazy process!

GCDC: What does your band name mean, is it Swedish?

ANDERS: (laughs) No, the true meaning of NASUM is a well-kept secret I won't tell you, ha-ha. But it's Latin actually.

GCDC: So, I'm going to have to look it up in my dictionary. Maybe some words to our readers?

ANDERS: Well, I'd like to say to all the readers that they shouldn't be afraid to contact us via e-mail or stuff like that and tell us what they think about our music because it?s nice to see people's reaction. They shouldn?t be afraid if their English isn?t good because our English isn?t perfect either. Just write to us and tell us what you think. Actually I was very surprised when I heard that I would give an interview for a belarusian magazine(sister magazine) because I had no idea that our records are sold there.

GCDC: I think Belarusian grindcore fans will like your music.

ANDERS: Hope so. And from time to time everybody should check out our website at http://www.nasum.com for the latest news.

GCDC: Thanks for the interview, good luck.

ANDERS: Good luck!

Conducted by Andy Gourski

GCDC: Like I was going to say 'hi, how's it going, man?

Topon: Then I’ll say 'It's going great! Very busy, but all good.

GCDC: I'm looking at the map right now and I'm a little bit amused by some geographical names like Yellowknife, Great Slave and stuff like that, kinda weird, heh.

Topon: Ya, we got some weird names I guess. But they’re mostly Native American, which is cool. I love living in Canada, I feel very lucky to be living the life I do, and besides the odd asshole, which you'd run into anywhere, Canada is very beautiful country. I've never been to Yellowknife, or Great Slave, but this place is so huge who can keep track. I live in 'Ottawa', how weird is that?

GCDC: Talking about Canada. You Canadians and Americans seem to be the same but I personally respect your nation more than Americans. Of course there are some nice fuckers there (mainly grinders, heh) but the main part is stupid dorks with zero iq and 150 kilos in their butts.

Topon: This is a funny question. There is a lot of anti-American sentiment here. Canadian don't like being compared to Americans, for the same reasons you mentioned. It's fucking crazy that some Americans truly believe that they live in the best country in the world. fuck 'em! This whole planet is awesome. But, of course there are also many nice Americans, I think it's there politicians that make then look fucked.

GCDC: Now it's time to finish with all that crab! Who wants to know your opinion about political or social aspects of life your job is to answer stupid alike question… so proceed!… So, here's another question our readers wanna ask you what guitars do you use?… aha… yes… and what strings do you prefer?… yes… right… and one more question about equipment - witch condoms do you like most, banana or strawberry flavored?… I see… And you know what? Some dorks really wanna interviews to look like that. They wanna have 4 biography pages wanna know all the line-up changes and they don't give a fuck about personality at all, see. Most of them don't have sense of humor and imagination that's why they can't accept something new… wow, heh.

Topon: I know man, I’ve done of interviews where I have to answer the same questions over and over, but hey, I just really appreciate that people are taking the time to interview some dirty Canadian grindhead. So if yr still curious. I play a crappy 'Aria Pro' shit guitar, ha, ha,. I love it. One of my friends found it abandoned in some building and gave it to me. I can't even tune the 2 highest pitch strings cause the tuning pegs are broke, and the input jack is held in by some green tape! This bitch grinds like a motherfucker, and is the only electric guitar I’ve used to record all FTF shit. It's funny cause Tim, the other guitarist in FTF, has about 5 really nice guitars, and all his equipment is top notch. We’re really different, when it comes to this stuff. As for strings I’m not really picky but I need a heavy gauge, cause we tune down to a B. I never have to suck my own dick so I really don't care what flavor condoms I use.

GCDC: You know maple leaf has enough in common with marijuana what if it's not just a coincidence?

Topon: I'm pretty sure it's just a coincidence. But things are looking good for pot to become legal here, or at least decriminalized. It's already ok, for medical use. And there's a lot of people pushing to get rid of this retarded ancient law, which puts people in the joint for smoking dope.

GCDC: What if 'the government conceals the truth'? You're going to be like the second junky nation after the Netherlands, heh.

Topon: Fuck we're already a junkie nation! Most people’s lives here are about making cash and getting smashed. Whatever turns yr crank bud. I like to smoke dope on the occasion but I’m definitely not a pothead, I’m more into beer (like most Canadians) but even that is from time to time. I'm too busy playing in this fuckin' grindcore band to get wasted all the time.

GCDC: Shit, I love maple syrup with my pancakes! I bet you've got some national alcohol drinks made of that shit, ha?

Topon: Like I said I just drink beer, and alcoholic syrup sounds like it would taste like shit! On pancakes it's good, but I wouldn't kill my grandma for it. I'm more into coffee, that's the shit you kill for.

GCDC: What do you need so many band members for? Five people can't get along for a long time without any problems. I think you should like take everything in your hands and kick those lazy bastards out of the band. You'll manage playing bass programming drum machine and doing vox perfectly and nobody will bother you saying that you 're doing something wrong, heh.

Topon: It's funny that you mention that, cause FTF used to be just me! I started it as a solo project, and just this year we made it a full band (actually, our bass player just left, so we're down to 4 members). But ya, it's really different, but it's all for the best.

GCDC: Like it's only the eighth question and I already dunno what to ask. I think I become stupid… think, man, think… ok, while my brain is thinking I'd like to ask you about English and French speaking parts of Canada. Can you make things clear are there two states in one?

Topon: Basically, French is the second language of Canada. Quebec is really the only Province where French is the first language, I grew up in Quebec and even where I live now is basically on the border of Quebec and Ontario. So I speak both French and English. 'mange des patate!'.

GCDC: Hehe. 'Discoing the dead' is an outstanding example of underground manufacturing. I think it would be very difficult to make this release 'more underground'. I bet you've planned to get fucking big money for that pro-produced album, heh. I wonder how many copies were issued?

Topon: Hey man, you making fun of our album? I guess it's pretty underground, but basically we didn't have the money to get cds pressed, so we just burned cd-r's (which I think is pretty close, anyway), and photocopied the covers. I've seen way more underground looking shit. We recorded the whole thing at my 8-track studio (Total Bastard studio), and so far we've sent out about 100 copies. Weeeez all about the bling-bling.

GCDC: What are your plans for future? Is your new stuff going to be presented in the same way or you going to make it a little bit more 'civilized'? Personally, I don't give a fuck I just wanna get a free copy, heh.

Topon: Don't worry bud you'll get yr copy, and thanx for yr honesty! ha, ha. Uhmmm. we just recorded 5 songs, 4 of them are older songs re-recorded with our new line-up, and the 5th is a cover of the Beach Boys '409', for a Beach Boys Tribute. We also plan to release all 5 songs on a split 7”, but we still have to find another band or a label to help us put it out. I think if anything our sound has gotten a bit more chaotic, but you'll have to wait and see. We also have a split cd-r with Conure coming soon and split tape with Truth Unlimited on the way. Whole bunch of other shit happening to, in the way of splits, etc. so keep an eye out.

GCDC: What's about copyright? Don't mind if I'll make some copies for my homies?

Topon: Go crazy bud! Copy away.but once we're rich we'll hafta sue! Just kidding, personally I don't give a fuck about copyrights, I’m just happy if people actually want to listen to our shit.

GCDC: Earlier I asked everybody if they had a dream but it started to piss me off that's why you're going the first one to take part in the worldwide grindcore sex survey it has only one question - where, how and with whom you like having sex?

Topon: Sex is good anywhere, any time, and any position. I try and keep just one sexual partner at a time because of all these crazy fucking diseases going around, but once in a while I’m too drunk and I fuck up.

GCDC: I think It's the thirteenth question already. What about superstitions? Do you have any
before-gig-traditions except getting drunk? Do you tour at all?

Topon: I never get drunk before a show, not even one beer. There's too much shit going on that I need to be super focused, aha! No superstitions, that kinda shit can fuck with yr head.

GCDC: I'm tired let's end this shit. Your top 5, please (not porno movies but band albums).

Topon: This list is always changing, but at this moment the top 5 albums that I’m listening to are:
1. Discordance Axis - the inalienable dreamless
2. Mindrot - dawning
3. Multiplex - multiplex
4. His Hero Is Gone - the plot sickens,
5. Black Flag - my war.

GCDC: Well, thanks, man. Hope you didn't fall asleep. Grind on, smoke on, fuck on… and send me some of that maple syrup for my pancakes! Grind on…

Topon: Hey bud, thanx for the killer interview. I hope I didn't bore you!
Interview with HAEMORRHAGE

Conducted by Andy Gourski

GCDC: Hi, how’s it going, what’s new with HAEMORRHAGE?

Luisma: Hello, this is Luisma from HAEMORRHAGE. We’re living a hard time now, cause Grind Over Europe Tour was cancelled on the 8th date, after a lot of problems. We’re down, cause all the shows were great, with many people and a big response for all the bands, so it was very hard to cancel the tour and come back home, but we’ll do it again as soon as we can. There’ll be more tours I hope.

GCDC: Whose idea was to record a cover album?

Luisma: It wasn’t an individual idea. It was a collective feeling. We talked a lot of times about recording some covers of our favorite bands and put them together on a disc. If you look back in our band’s history you’ll find that we’ve recorded five covers before Loathesongs that were included on old split EP’s and as a bonus track for picture LP. We can say we’re pretty much into covers, so after Anatomical Inferno album we felt it was the time to do something like Loathesongs it was a project of everyone in the band.

GCDC: How did you choose the songs for Loathesongs? I’m sure you didn’t manage to put all the songs you wanted to…

Luisma: Yes, it was really hard ´cause we love music too much and we have lots of favorite bands, songs, etc. So, we chose the songs because of emotional motives for example CARCASS, REGURGITATE, ENTOMBED or DEFECATION. Another ones like CRYPTIC SLAUGHTER were just to show people another kind of bands for the middle 80´s that were really fast and intense. And at last the cover of UFO was played and recorded in a funny moment, so we don’t take it seriously. Anyway it was a pity cause many bands like CARNAGE, XYSMA, TERRORIZER, REPULSION or MACABRE deserved to be also on Loathesongs. Maybe we should record a Loathesongs part 2, ha-ha!

GCDC: And what are your plans for the full-length album and future in general?

Luisma: Now the tour is finished and it’s a hard kick in our heads, but we will concentrate in the new stuff. We’ll channel all our anger in the new stuff so we expect a totally outrageous album for 2001. Morgue Sweet Home will be the title for the new massacre.

GCDC: I know this year you’re going (or already have celebrated) the tenth HAEMORRHAGE’s anniversary…

Luisma: Hmm.We don’t feel good to make some celebrations right now, but I’m sure we will make something before the 2000 years end ¯ maybe a special gig or a big gory party. We have to forget all our problems and then we’ll do anything.

GCDC: Are you going to have a special tour like “Ten Years Of Anal Bleeding”, he-he?

Luisma: Maybe Ten Years Making Your Anus Bleed will be great! I don’t know, but I don’t like to hear the word “tour” in the next 1000 years.

GCDC: On the Loathesongs booklet there is written “grind gore”. Is that how you call your style?

Luisma: Yes! It’s not only our style. The style was born before HAEMORRHAGE. We’re just a part in the grind gore universe. Our mission is infecting the world with grind gore and it will be completed! There were others before us IMPETIGO, CARCASS, DEAD INFECTION. We’re the inheritors the new vanguard of the elite. Grind gore rules!

GCDC: What’s your favorite HAEMORRHAGE album and which do you think is the most successful?

Luisma: I think the last one Anatomical Inferno sold a lot, but definitely I thought it was easy ´cause Grume opened the way, and it was the album that told people "Hey! We are HAEMORRHAGE and we’re here to make you vomit!" So in my opinion Anatomical Inferno was better but Grume was successful, cause it had to do the entire job, we were totally unknown back then.

GCDC: I know that you wanted to play a gig in a real morgue. Have you managed, he-he?

Luisma: No, we wanted to record a live album in a morgue but we only could dismember some cadavers.

GCDC: Are you using some reference books during writing your lyrics?

Luisma: No, it was just in the beginning. Now we don’t need medical books cause everything is in our minds. My mind has all the pathological wisdom of this world.

GCDC: Do you have lyrics in Spanish? Are you going to use your mother language to describe all this bizarre insane stuff? I think it’s going to sound killer!

Luisma: Yes, but we play grind gore and that’s an English word so our lyrics are in English. Anyway some lyrics in Spanish could sound great, but it’s not our business.

GCDC: I know you did the artwork on IMPETIGO’s EP. Is he a professional artist or just amateur gore painter?

Luisma: No I’m not a professional artist, I don’t get any money for my artwork. I’m getting paid with the support of people. That’s enough. I only want money from bands I dislike, but I always loved IMPETIGO, so working for IMPETIGO was too much! It was the price!

GCDC: What do pathologists like you do besides playing in HAEMORRHAGE?

Luisma: Our main hobby is music, playing music. We also like go out, drink, smoke, football, etc.
Some guys in my band are into sports. I personally am interested in art, painting, sculpture, etc. but the most of time is absorbed by HAEMORRHAGE.

GCDC: You know, nowadays grind and death are going down letting black posers take that place. Don’t you feel that you’re a part of elite underground without any trends and other bullshit like these true and evil gays have?

Luisma: I don’t care. In our first European tour in 1996 we felt we were the minority, going against the grain, in a big black metal trend, but in our last tour we saw many people are coming back to the roots. For me black metal and grind-death are different worlds. We have our scene, with our fanzines our distributors, labels, etc. Totally rooted into the underground. It’s a very strong scene; it’s alive after very bad times. Let’s see what will happen when the black clouds are over black metal. How many of them will survive? We are here for 10 years without trends just believing in this music, cause grind gore is in our veins we will raise the grind gore flag till death! They can fuck off and die in the gothic-metal-gay scene!

GCDC: From your point of view how the real grindcore should sound?

Luisma: Fast, intense, heavy, with extreme vocals, with power, with feeling. We really feel what we play, it’s really important, we don’t lie. Grind gore is god!

GCDC: Does this insane nice looking doc on your website (taken from picture LP Anatomical Inferno) and Loathsongs CD have a name?

Luisma: Yes, he’s Dr. Obnoxious. Do you like to meet him, he-he?

GCDC: I’ve noticed that now the most brutal grind and death are played in countries with warm climate. How can you comment on this?

Luisma: No. I don’t think so. What’s up with the godly Czech, Slovak and German bands? For me the new gods of grind will come from east/north Europe. It’s true that there are extreme bands here in Spain, but it’s something exceptional.

GCDC: You know, you sing about all this dismemberment stuff. And have you ever had nightmares (I suppose you watch thousands of horror films), he-he?

Luisma: When I was a child I had a nightmare: there were amputated arms and legs hanging from thewindows and roofs of my neighborhood. Then I watched a kind of angels coming from horizon. I used to dream about that, before I was into horror movies and grind gore.

GCDC: Were you afraid of the dark when you were a child?

Luisma: No, I really feel great in the dark.

GCDC: Do you have a dream?

Luisma: Yes, we are playing in Africa with HAEMORRHAGE.

GCDC: Maybe you have something to say to our readers?

Luisma: Yes, thanks a lot for their support throughout the years. Sorry to our fans in Slovakia, Czech Rep., Switzerland, Italy etc. for canceling G.O.E.III. We’ll play there soon. Keep the faith and stay sick! See you in the morgue.

GCDC: Thanks for the interview and grind on! Set the morgue on fire!

Luisma: Thanks Gurin, for the interview, good luck with “M”/Legion. STAY SUCK! +++ This concludes our interview with HAEMORRHAGE

I recently had the chance to sit down and chat with an enigmatic robot grindcore machine named VOLTRON and try to figure out what makes him tick. Here are the results:

GCDC: First of all let me just say that it is very good of you to take time out of you're other-worldly schedule to sit down and talk to us.

Voltron: think nothing of it. i exist to serve the forces of good in the universe

GCDC: And you have chosen grindcore as one vehicle to do good in the universe?

Voltron: yes

GCDC: Why grindcore?

Voltron: i felt that hardcore was filled with pretentious assholes who played crappy music, and metal was for me, lacking in any significant
intellectual stimulation, the music is great, but the ideas behind it are a tad redundant, much like hardcore. grindcore was the happy medium. It worked for me, so i've stuck with it.

GCDC: So you're not into the current wave of metalcore that seems to be so prevalent in the scene?

Voltron: no and infact it sickens me

GCDC: Why?

Voltron: short hair hardcore kids that wouldn't have anything to do with metal 5 years ago and avoided it like the plague, on some false superiority trip suddenly all saying they play "metal" and playing open E mosh parts and discordant chords which of course mean that they're musical geniuses, and having sentence long bad poetry type band names like some huge "oh look we just discovered metal aesthetics" circle jerk over their fresh kicks and dope gear, doing judo on each other in the pit. morons. i hate them. i curse any society that could spawn such scum. i hate them the way i hate robeasts. to me they are below robeasts. they are a gnat on a dogs dick.

GCDC: How is the scene on planet aeris?

Voltron: it used to be cool but now it sucks, all the places to have shows shut down and most of the god bands have broken up. again it's mostly the hardcore kids, they judo each other and then a fight breaks out inevitably and then the cops come and eventually the space gets shut down and then we have one less place to do shows. and then all the fucking bands around are cookie cutter metalcore bands like leaves falling on dead grass and the shawshank redemption. i don't even play shows anymore. it's not worth it.

GCDC: So what can we expect from Voltron in the near future?

Voltron: well, right now i'm working on about 20 minutes worth of material for a 3" cd-r that's coming out on blastbeast records, which is jay randall from agoraphobic nosebleed's label and apparently then it's also coming out on 12" vinyl which i'm very psyched for, and i'm trying to hook up a split 7" with somebody which i have already recorded and ready to go, then i'm going to work on a full length cd. i'm supposed to do a split with pantalones abajo mareinero too but i have no idea when that's going to happen.

GCDC: What was the worst show you ever played?

Voltron: all of them have been abysmally bad but the time i played with atom and his package was probably the worst. i had emo kids mimmicking my vocals right in front of me while i played making fun of me, like they couldn't even wait till i was done to make fun of me, or even go in the back. i think that's the show that made me decide to never play live again and to only record stuff and then the people that want to hear this stuff can.

GCDC: Well thank you very much for taking the time to talk to us, any final comments?

Voltron: no.
Certainly not a bad thing in this case, and more than likely completely intentional considering that this is Ihsahn's vacation from Emperor, who's sound is has been becoming more and more structured and listenable. There's no Curse You All Men (IX Equilibrium) to latch onto; there's no hooks to speak of; there's no tune you're going to find yourself humming in the elevator up to work. northampton based old school hardcore! containing plenty of energy and raw aggression, there is an air of punk in the house, but not that popular shite, this is the real deal. the band also make use of some rather creative songwriting with some slap style shit on the bass here and there, and riffs aplenty. the guitars come across rich and crisp in the kind of production oh-so suited to this style of extreme music. vocally n.b.c. have anger by the bucket load. hard ass shouting is the order of the day accompanied by the occasional burst of gang backing vocals, both bassist and drummer back up the stressy front man with some hoarse snarls and some grunty bellows! drumming wise they are tight and precise and some impressive agility is shown while bustin' them skins. these guys have paid their dues live, playing gigs up and down the country making them tight as a camel's arse in a sandstorm, their live show is frantic and aggressive and that's pretty well captured on this here cd. unfortunately the packaging is a total let down considering the artistic talents of their bassist, who should get his mustachio ass in gear and do his band some fuckin' justice. overall this cd is a damn fine listen and genuinely enjoyable, admittedly i am not a massive fan of hardcore, but there are a few bands that stand out and not by choice are definitely one.
