Holy shit. "Mondo Medicale" is a gore ridden masterpiece. For some reason, I can't take this out of my CD player. I take it wherever I happen to be, whether it is my car or home stereo, or even a friends house. Now there has been much debate on whether Impaled or Exhumed is the better band. I have always believed that Impaled was the better band, and this release should shut up all non-believers. While Exhumed is Gore/Death Metal on fast forward, Impaled is true Gore/Death Metal. It is what they do, and they do it better than anyone else. Enough debate, now onto the goodies. The opening track is pure sick genius. It comes in softly with a soft but eerie piano tune, which could be likened to the Halloween theme. The build
up is nice and slow. With spoken vocals overlaying the guitar that is
playing the same tune the piano was. Everything drops but the piano and words "I say kill them all." Then onto the madness. This description hardly does it justice, but I am sure that you get the point. The rest of "Mondo Medicale" is extremely well written and original Gore Metal in the vein of Impetigo, Autopsy, with a slight hint of early Carcass. Impaled is a force to reckoned with, and I can only seem them becoming classics of Metal history.
