RE:
It's pretty damn impossible to play faster then 320bpm without it becoming just tiny taps like world fastest drumm style.
Yeah, no shit. I guess it takes a lot of training and practice to condition, and build the proper muscles and stamina to keep blasting for longer periods. At the same time, that's why many bands tend to use triggers, mostly on the kick drum and snare.
I know there are people that prefer bands that don't use triggers, whether on a studio recording or live. It's almost like a tightrope walker that uses a safety net, and one that doesn't. But, I can understand the pros and cons of them. I don't rule them out or think they're bad, I just personally don't use triggers. They're too much of a hassle, and would probably make me very lazy.

RE: Fastest band
I personally don't care if a band uses triggers or not. How they drum is not important, it's what it sounds like. Technique for the sake of technique is not what I look for in a band, it's whether it's used successfully as a means to an end.

Well you've described triggers wrong, or at least it gives that impression to me. Triggering has nothing todo with giving stamina and blasting for longer periods. This is a common misconception, people think triggering is cheating or that it somehow plays the drums for you - haha!
Triggering is a drumkit version of distortion on guitars. It doesn't change what you're playing, it just changes the sound of it. All it does (to my knowledge) is enables you to adjust the individual volume levels of drum kit parts, or even replace the sound with something else, an electronic sound maybe (e.g. the Berzerker).
It gives the impression that everythings tighter & maybe a little faster like a drum machine - but impression is all it is. Thats why i was saying grind drummers like anal cunts is up there with the fastest - but not recognised as such. If he used triggers and tightened up his playing slightly he would sound as fast and tight as the likes of nile drummer etc, or maybe faster.
It's personal preferance. besides triggering suits death metal more than grind. It's not meant to be so neat and click-clicky tight like decrepit birth, that would sound retarded! Imagine regurgitate playing with decrepit birth drummer sound on hatefilled vengeance .

RE: Fastest band
Most drum triggering is used through MIDI controlled devices these days, so it's very much the same as hitting a key (not weighted keys) on a keyboard, or an electronic kit, and the sample is then activated. It's not like distortion on guitars, but more like a pickup on guitars which is routed to digital sampling processors, then to amps and out a PA system and/or cabs. The main beneficial use for this is keeping the amplitude of each successive hit at an even level, mainly when blasting and hits can become more like taps.
