wow, this band play such an interesting style of death/grind I can't help but be amazed! get this cd and you are gonna hear waves of insane technical riffing, pounding groove riffs, crazed melodic parts, and some very skillful drumming! it's not an all-out blastfest, but when the drummer gets going he is incredibly fast, in fact there is a part on one song which has one of the fastest, tightest snare blast sections I've ever heard! as well as that he does loads of interesting fills and catchy rhythms, which really adds to the music. the guitar work is just as impressive, with lots of precisely played technical riffs & runs, though it's always tasteful and catchy, and never just to show off. the vocals aren't so original, but they sure sound good, a bit like frank mullen or the guy from skinless. the production suits the music very well, the guitars and drums are particularly clear and heavy, though maybe the bass could be a bit louder. musically they bring to mind well-known bands like suffocation and dying fetus (though I reckon this band is much better than d.f.!), you get the idea! kinda like vomit remnants, they've combined lots of variety with catchiness, but also used an impressive degree of technicality, not to mention very intense brutality. they've also got plenty of crushing grooves, like fellow new yorkers skinless, and some of the more melodic parts have a black metal feel to them (still done in a very brutal way though! no keyboards on this release!). and as if that wasn't enough, there's a bonus track, a killer death metal cover of "dirty deeds done dirt cheap" (or whatever it's called?!) by acdc (I think?!), fucking hilarious! any fan of ultra-brutal death/grind should really check out this inventive band, they're very talented and original.
