ultra-chaotic technical "death metal stupidity" (that's how they describe themselves!) is the order of the day here. loads of insane time & tempo changes, with lots of experimentation going on. fans of straightforward brutal death metal probably won't like it much, due to the deliberately chaotic nature, in fact it is more of a combination of death metal with a bit of avant garde experimentation and the complex approach of bands like dillinger escape plan. the vocals are exceptionally low and brutal, with a totally sick gargly sound to them too, and a few screams and screeches thrown in too. the general sound is often one of total mayhem, as they push themselves to play the most complex stuff they possibly can! production is really cool, great bassy sound, though I think the guitars could be a bit more upfront and crunchy, they tend to get a bit lost when the drummer is going mad (which is most of the time!). there's plenty of variety too, such as spooky more laidback parts, speeding blastbeats, twisted jazzy bits, and now and again, a "normal" riff! vocalist raland told me that they are a stupid band because they write stuff they can barely play! I can definitely understand what he means, though there are no mistakes as such, you can tell this is the sound of a band really pushing what they can do to come up with something genuinely original, cos sometimes they kind of play stuff a bit looser to give it a different feel, instead of playing everything exactly on the beat. this is a very hard record to describe, but if you are into really chaotic and intense technical stuff, you should definitely check this band out, they're totally fucking demented!
